About Us

Ridgewood Heights Baptist Church

is not just a building;

it is people.

People are not perfect.  People have problems.

People know victories.  People know defeats.

People are happy.  People are sad.

People live.  People die.

People are sinners.  People need a Savior.

At Ridgewood Heights Baptist Church

our mission is to make a difference for Christ

in the people around us,

one person at a time.

Our Pastor

David Turner became pastor of Ridgewood Heights Baptist Church in August of 2017.   Before coming to Eureka, David served as a pastor in Washington State for 8 years and as an assistant pastor in Pennsylvania for 6 years.

David had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and being saved at an early age.  As a teenager, he surrendered to preach and after graduating from high school enrolled in Bible college.  It was in college that David met his wife Amy, and they were married after David graduated from college.

The Turners have four children: Caleb, Philip, Joy and Gideon.

Our Services

Traditional

Our services are traditional church services that last between 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Singing, Scripture reading, preaching, and the occasional testimony make up the most of our services.

Singing

We believe that our song service is both an act of worship to God and the preparation of our hearts for the preaching of the Word of God.  Congregational and special music consist of both the great hymns of faith as well as conservative Christian music.

Preaching

The focal point of our services is the preaching of God's Word from the King James Bible.  A mixture of both topical and expositiory preaching is used for the intent of helping a person in their walk with the Lord.

Our History

Ridgewood Heights Baptist Church was established as a mission on February 10, 1954, in a one room building on Eggert Road, which was donated by a member. The mission was sponsered by Calvary Baptist Church of Eureka. Rev. Stanley Durham presided over the mission and when the misson was organized into a church in December of 1954, he became the first pastor. There were 16 people desiring membership in the new church. Because of these 16 dedicated Christians, our church was born and many souls have been saved here. The congregation moved into the present building in October of 1959. The parsonage was completed in 1971.

In 2003, the church honored Pastor Gary Durbin and his wife, Pat for 25 years of service. They continued to serve until their retirement early 2014, serving for a total of 36 years! Pastor Chris Beard served as pastor from July of 2014 through August of 2017.  In August of 2017, Pastor David Turner came to Ridgewood Heights Baptist Church with his wife and 4 children.
